[An insect pest boring into the stems of coral trees]
Plant Protection Bulletin (Taipei) 46 (3), 295-298
Abstract: The coral tree is an important plant which grows in gardens and beside roadways. If a certain type of lepidopteran larvae (Agathodes ostentalis (Geyer, 1837)) bores into the stem of the coral tree, then that plants will grow downwards and will mot produce any flowers. If the damaged stems of the coral tree are cut, collected and burned, then the plants can grow normally, and we can expect the beautiful flowers to emerge again.
